These videos show ideas for teaching Discrete Mathematics in A level Further Mathematics lessons. Each video is approximately five minutes in length and demonstrates a different idea.

The videos were filmed at Backwell School, North Somerset in January 2018.

Questions for reflection

  • Which should come first, an understanding of the algorithms or an understanding of the modelling process?
  • What are the benefits of using group discussion to address modelling?
  • How should this sort of activity be structured to maximise the students’ learning?
